Swifts levelled just seven minutes later when McCafferty scored his seventh league goal of the season.
His 30-yard drive caught O'Hare by surprise and found the bottom left of the home side's goal.
The visitors built on the equaliser and had the better chances of the second half. Adamson should have put Swifts ahead after 74 minutes but Matt Crossan, who was injured as a result, blocked his effort.
