Derry City's slump in the League of Ireland Premier Division continued when they lost to second-placed Shamrock Rovers on Sunday night.
Sean O'Connor, returning to the Rovers team after suspension, scored the opener in the seventh minute.
Michael O'Neill's side went two up when Tadhg Purcell netted on 25 minutes.
Derry pulled a goal back through Tam McManus soon after half-time but the defeat means they have taken just one point from a possible 15.
Stephen Kenny's men have not won a league fixture since 19 June.
Rovers are now just two points behind leaders Bohemians.
The match came just three days after Derry's creditable 1-0 defeat away to CSKA Sofia in the first leg of a Europa League match.
The second leg is at the Brandywell on Thursday night.
In Sunday's other Premier Division match, St Patrick's Athletic beat Dundalk 1-0.
