Derry City dropped to third in the League of Ireland Premier Division after losing 1-0 to Dundalk at the Brandywell on Friday night.
After a scoreless first half, a 54th-minute goal by Darren Mansaram was enough to give the visitors the win.
The Candystripes are now five points behind leaders Bohemians and two behind second-placed Cork City.
Bohs were 2-0 home winners over Bray Wanderers while Cork won 1-0 at home to Galway United.
In the evening's other game, Drogheda United drew 0-0 at home to Sligo Rovers.
