Conor Forker (right) celebrates after scoring the opener
Struggling Dungannon got the better of Ballymena in a seven-goal thriller.
Conor Forker shot home off the inside of the post in the second minute and then Timmy Adamson fired a right-foot drive past Alan Blayney on 17 minutes.
David Cushley netted with a left-foot piledriver on 17 minutes and Lee Colligan lashed the ball in after 31.
Neil McCafferty scored a penalty on 37, Darren Murphy powered a shot into the corner on 44 and Neil Teggart scored from a Cushley cross after 71 minutes.
After Swifts had taken a two-goal lead, Aidan Watson hit the crossbar for the Sky Blues and then Cushley found the bottom corner to pull one back.
Colligan's goal was another fine left-foot effort but McCafferty restored the advantage after Gary Haveron had fouled Ryan Mullan in the penalty area.
Murphy latched on to Adamson's flick to make the score 4-2 at half-time.
In the second half Kevin Kelbie's shot clipped the post and Alvin Rouse saved well from Cushley.
Albert Watson, Gavin Melaugh and Teggart were introduced as second-half substitutes for United and it was striker Teggart who grabbed the consolation goal.
