Mixed news on Ballymena strikers

Kevin Kelbie
Kevin Kelbie was suspended for Tuesday's win over Crusaders

Ballymena forward Kevin Kelbie has committed his future to the club but strike partner Neil Teggart could be ruled out for the rest of the season.

Kelbie has moved to quash speculation of a January move to Linfield by telling manager Roy Walker that he will remain on the books at the Showgrounds.

Teggart has a stomach muscle injury and will meet with a specialist next week to ascertain the extent of the damage.

Glentoran midfielder Philip Carson is set to join United on loan in January.

Carson, who has made 23 appearances for the Glens' first team, has found his opportunities limited this season due to the good form of Shane McCabe.

The midfielder will be on loan until the end of the season, with a view to securing a permanent deal in the summer.

Teggart sustained his injury in the recent 2-1 defeat by Dungannon Swifts, having hit a good run of form, scoring three goals in two matches.

He will be sidelined for at least six weeks but could miss the remainder of the campaign.

Meanwhile the Sky Blues have not received any inquiries about the seven players who were transfer-listed last week.

Thomas Wray, Gavin McDonnell, Joe McDonnell, Mark Picking, Michael Ward, Davitt Walsh and Aidan Watson were all made available to other clubs.
