BBC NI boosts Milk Cup coverage

The MIlk Cup tournament runs from 27 July to 1 August

More people than ever will have the chance to watch the best of the action from the Milk Cup this year.

Digital viewers across the UK will be able to watch highlights of each day's action throughout the week by pressing the red button on their remotes.

The new service from BBC Sport NI means that during the week of the tournament fans can catch a review of the previous day's action with Gavin Andrews.

The highlights package will also have an introduction to the tournament.

This service will be available from Tuesday 29 July until Saturday 2 August.

The new service enhances BBC Sport NI's extensive coverage of the Milk Cup throughout the week on a number of platforms.

Shane Glynn, Executive Producer Sport BBC NI said: "Our online output around the Milk Cup will again be extensive with a dedicated Milk Cup website providing unique content and a real sense of community around this fantastic tournament.

"But we've been looking at how we could bring added value and the red button highlights are an exciting development that will bring one of Europe's top youth soccer tournaments to a UK-wide audience."

There will be live and exclusive coverage of the Elite and Premier Finals on Friday 1 August on BBC Two Northern Ireland from 6pm. Digital viewers throughout the UK will also be able to watch both finals live by pressing the red button on their remotes.

The two Milk Cup finals will also be streamed live on BBC Sport Northern Ireland's dedicated Milk Cup website: bbc.co.uk/milkcup .

The website also features an interactive map where fans can find information about the teams and where they come from.

The site will have video packages with all the goals, highlights and best action from each day.

Fans will also be able to submit their own images to the online photo gallery along with their views and comments about the tournament by emailing them to [email protected] .

An extensive video library is also available on the site with archive footage, goals, team features and background to the tournament.

Returning this year is MOO TV. The black and white mobile video booth is back to capture the views, thoughts and comments about the tournament throughout the week which can also be accessed through BBC Sport Northern Ireland�s dedicated Milk Cup website.

Coverage of the Milk Cup Finals on Friday 1 August will be presented by Stephen Watson with commentary from Michael McNamee and Jackie Fullerton. Stephen will also be reporting for BBC Newsline each night during the tournament.

Throughout the week there will be regular updates on Radio Ulster and Radio Foyle.
