Derry cruised into the Eircom League Cup semi-finals with this victory over the league leaders at the Brandywell.
Debutant James McLean's close-range finish put City ahead four minutes from the break before Conor Sammon headed in to make it 2-0 in the 45th minute.
Sammon completed his brace with a 56th minute volley while Bohemians, looking for an 11th straight win, pulled one back through John Paul Kelly on 70.
The holders sealed their progress with Kevin McHugh's strike after 76 minutes.
Gareth McGlynn crossed for the opener while McHugh was the provider for City's second goal.
McGlynn set up Sammon for his 10-yard volley at the backpost before Kelly headed home from a Jason Byrne centre.
Derry will be joined in the last four by Galway United, Cork City and Wexford Youths.
Galway claimed a 3-0 home win over Bray Wanderers, Cork won 2-0 at Drogheda and Wexford earned a 2-1 away success against UCD.
