Rory Hamill has struggled to hold down a first team place |
Cliftonville are set to hold talks with transfer-listed Glentoran player Rory Hamill after Alan McDonald gave the go-ahead for discussions to take place. It was initially thought that the Glens would not want to sell the player to one of their title rivals.
"We have been given permission to speak to Rory and that is what we plan to do," Cliftonville Director of Football Gerard Lawlor told the News Letter.
The Reds have also held talks with Larne midfielder Marty Hunter.
Cliftonville are keen to sign Hamill in the January transfer window but are also considering a pre-contract agreement to lure the player to the club in the summer.
Coleraine, Lisburn Distillery and Donegal Celtic have also shown an interest in the 31-year-old former Ballymena and Dungannon forward.
