Darren Boyce could make his Glens debut in the Irish Cup |
Glentoran have signed winger Darren Boyce from Coleraine for an undisclosed fee in a deal taking him to the end of the 2010/11 season. There is also an option of a one-year extension to the contract and Boyce goes straight into the squad for the
Irish Cup game against Distillery.
Meanwhile, the Glens have put strikers Rory Hamill and Michael Ward on the transfer list.
Coleraine and Donegal Celtic have been given permission to speak to Hamill.
Hamill is also believed to be a target for Cliftonville but with the Reds being title rivals it is unlikely Glentoran boss Alan McDonald will allow them to speak with the former Ballymena and Coleraine forward.
"If Rory wants to stay at the Oval and fight for a place that's up to him," said McDonald.
"I would love him to stay and fight for a place and nobody is forcing him out the door."
The 21-year-old Boyce arrives at the club two weeks after midfielder Shane McCabe moved to the Glens from Dungannon Swifts.
"Boyce is a very good footballer and will be a great addition to our squad," said McDonald.
"Various people have filled in in wide positions but hopefully Darren will do so on a regular basis.
"We've done two very good bits of business in the transfer window, adding two quality players to our midfield."
Dungannon are interested in bringing Ward back to Stangmore Park.
