The Candystripes went down to a narrow defeat to Galway in this Eircom League Premier Division encounter at Terryland Park on Friday night. The game was scoreless when the teams were brought off for 40 minutes in the second half because of a floodlight failure.
Galway captain Wesley Charles scored the only goal when he blasted home from Greg O'Halloran's 68th minute corner.
Meanwhile, Cork City beat Bohemians 2-0 in the FAI Ford Cup semi-final.
