Glenavon made it three away wins out of three in the Carnegie Premier League with a narrow success at Drumahoe. Lewis Hamlin gave then the lead with an eighth-minute penalty after he had been fouled by home keeper Alan Ryan.
Liam McKenna forced in the Institute equaliser just before half-time but Colm Kearney headed Glenavon's second from an Ormond Okunaiya cross.
Kearney got Glenavon's third and Mark Scoltock netted a header for Institute who then had Ruairi Boyle sent-off.
