Glenavon are still without a point at home in the 2007-08 campaign after losing their third league game in a row on their own Mourneview Park pitch. The game appeared destined for a draw until Donegal Celtic scored the only goal in the 75th minute.
They got a free-kick when Glenavon defender Gavin McDonell fouled Paul McVeigh who got up to strike the set-piece past keeper Tuda Murphy.
It lifts Donegal Celtic up three places to ninth in the Premier League.
