 Stephen Garrett's goal gave Newry City an early lead |
Newry City moved clear in fifth place in the Carnegie Premier table after securing back-to-back league wins. They were ahead in the third minute when Stephen Garrett netted an easy goal after keeper Michael Doherty missed Mark Scoltock backpass.
Doherty was sent off on 50 minutes for bringing down Garrett who later set up Tony Anderson for Newry's second goal.
Right at the end David Ogilby netted a penalty for Institute but they fell to their second defeat of the campaign.
