Linfield 2-0 Glenavon
Jim Ervin
Jim Ervin hit Linfield's opening goal a minute after the interval
Linfield completed their CIS Cup group campaign with a routine victory over Glenavon at Windsor Park.

Jamie Mulgrew hit the Glenavon woodwork on 19 minutes while goalkeeper Paul Rice also denied Thomas Stewart and Kris Lindsay in the first half.

Eamon Murray had a first-half Glenavon chance but Alan Mannus made the save.

Jim Ervin shot the Blues ahead on 46 minutes after a Aidan O'Kane cross while Timmy Adamson struck the second on 87 after a Damien Curran pass.

Glenavon's Murray set up a chance for Michael Keogh on 77 minutes but Mannus stopped the effort.

The Blues had already secured qualification for a quarter-final meeting against Distillery on 23 October.

Glenavon's slim qualification hopes had rested on them winning at Windsor and Ballymena winning Tuesday's other group contest at Dungannon.
