Andy Smith won the last of his 18 N Ireland caps in 2005 |
Former N Ireland striker Andy Smith could be on his way back to Glentoran after deciding to return home. But the Glens face stiff competition from Linfield and Portadown for the 26-year-old, who was released by Bristol City at the end of last season.
Smith joined Preston from Glentoran for 130,000 in 2004 but failed to make an impact at Deepdale.
The forward had loan spells with Stockport County, Cheltenham Town and Motherwell during his time at Preston.
Smith failed to score in a competitive game during an injury plagued three-year spell in England and Scotland.
The Lisburn man made 18 international appearances, the last coming against Germany two years ago.
