Fenlon guided Shelbourne to this year's Eircom League title |
Derry City's search for a new manager remains no nearer to a resolution with Shelbourne boss Pat Fenlon yet to give an answer to the club. Fenlon was approached a fortnight ago after the Derry board decided that they wanted him to succeed Stephen Kenny.
Shelbourne pipped Derry for this year's Eircom League title but the Dublin club has had severe financial problems.
Ex-Republic of Ireland player Mark Kinsella is among the other names being linked with the vacant Derry job.
Fenlon has threatened to leave Shels because of the club's financial situation.
It was known that Shelbourne players did not receive their wages during periods of the season and Fenlon was also strongly linked with a move to his former club Bohemians in September.
The Derry players are preparing for Sunday's Carlsberg FAI Cup final against St Patrick's Athletic at Lansdowne Road.
Derry will be without the suspended Ciaran Martyn and injured Stephen O'Flynn.
St Pat's will be boosted by the availability of defenders Stephen Brennan and Stephen Quigley who have both returned to training after injury.
