Roy Coyle has suffered a poor run of results at Newry |
Newry City boss Roy Coyle has vowed to battle on in the job despite losing five matches in a row. The border club has slipped to 11th in the Carnegie Premier League, fuelling speculation about the former Linfield and Glentoran manager's future.
Newry's recent games have been against the top five clubs in the league.
"I still believe the players can turn things round. It is no consolation, but none of the top five teams has hammered us." said Coyle.
"In the last five matches we have scored just one goal and that has to be addressed.
"We are trying for new players but other clubs have more money and we cannot attract them."
Newry will be aiming to end the losing sequence when they travel to Armagh City on 26 December.
Coyle, the most successful manager in Irish League history, took over at Newry in February 2006, shortly after resigning the Glentoran job.
