Roy Coyle starts his managerial reign at Newry against Larne |
Roy Coyle is looking forward to the challenge of bringing success to Newry City after being named as the club's new manager on Monday. "Having talked to the chairman and directors at Newry I found they are very ambitious people," the former Glentoran boss told BBC Sport.
"The challenge is very exciting to me and I feel the infrastructure at the club is spot-on.
"Hopefully I can bring the success that they desire."
Coyle, who quit as Glents boss earlier this month, has signed a deal which will keep him at the Showgrounds until the end of the 2007-8 season.
Newry officials made the Belfast man their number one target after Paul Millar left the club to succeed Coyle at the Oval.
Coyle, who has won 50 trophies in a 30-year managerial career, has yet to appoint his number two.
Larne are the visitors to the Showgrounds on Saturday for Coyle's first game in charge.
Newry consolidated their sixth-place position in the Carnegie Premier League with a 4-1 away success against Glenavon at the weekend.
