Kevin Pressman is a target for the Shamrock Park club |
Portadown boss Ronnie McFall is trying to bring former Sheffield Wednesday star Kevin Pressman out of retirement to solve a goalkeeper crisis. Michael Dougherty faces a lengthy ban after two red cards this season while David Miskelly is injured.
McFall has travelled to England in the hope of presuading the 39-year-old Pressman to sign a short-term deal.
Pressman, who spent 19 years with the Owls, retired after being released by Mansfield Town in July.
The former England U21 international also played for Stoke City and Leicester City.
McFall has been forced to use younsters Rory Keenan and Andrew Wright in recent games.
The Ports were defeated 2-1 by Crusaders in last weekend's league opener at Shamrock Park.
McFall hopes Pressman will be in his squad for Saturday's away game against Cliftonville.
