Alex Spackman has finally sealed a move to Donegal Celtic |
Alex Spackman has signed for Donegal Celtic on a one-year deal after Larne finally released the goalkeeper. Spackman agreed to join the west Belfast side at the end of last season but Larne would not release the player until a replacement was found.
The move was only secured after it was learned that new Larne striker Colm Kearney was still contracted to DC.
Celtic had to release Kearney from his contract before Spackman was allowed to leave Larne and complete his move.
"I tried to get Alex a couple of years ago but we lost out to Larne so I am delighted to finally get him on board," said DC boss Paddy Kelly.
"He has performed really well in pre-season and his experience in the Premier Division will be vital for us."
Spackman is the latest signing for the ambitious top-flight newcomers.
Former Aston Villa and Glentoran midfielder Gavin Melaugh and former Coleraine striker Sean Armstrong are also among the summer arrivals.
