Coyle stunned at Brown departure

Glentoran boss Roy Coyle says he is "gobsmacked" at the decision of assistant manager Jimmy Brown to leave the club.

Brown quit the Oval this week because he was unhappy after the club altered his terms and working conditions over the last 12 months.

"Jimmy's been a great asset to the club and his departure would be a big loss," Coyle told the Belfast Telegraph.

Coyle added that there was no fall-out between Brown and himself.

Meanwhile, Glentoran midfielder Gavin Melaugh is definitely out of Wednesday's Champions League qualifier first leg against Shelbourne at the Oval.

Midfielder Melaugh aggravated a knee injury in last weekend's friendly against TNS in Wales.

Centre-back Chris Walker (ankle) and Sean Ward (knee) are also minor fitness worries.

There will be live commentary of both Champions League ties between Glentoran and Shelbourne on Radio Ulster M/W.

Michael McNamee introduces coverage of Wednesday's game from 6.55pm with commentary from Joel Taggart and Roy Walker.
