Portadown's John Convery went close with a diving header |
Portadown dropped two points away to Loughgall but the draw was enough to move them a point ahead of Glentoran in the battle for second place. Ronnie McFall's men, unbeaten since the end of November, went close to taking the lead when defender John Convery's diving header was cleared off the line.
From the follow-up, Wesley Boyle's effort was again blocked by the resolute Loughgall defence.
In the second half, Portadown's Philip Craig blasted over from three yards.
For Loughgall, Alain Emerson shot wide, Johnny Topley sent a dipping header too high and Stevie Coulter forced Ports keeper David Miskelly into a near-post save.
