Glentoran trail leaders Linfield by five points after crashing to a rare home defeat to Ballymena United. Ballymena took the lead on 12 minutes when Vincent Sweeney poked the ball in from six yards after Andrew Rosbotham had delivered a right-wing free-kick.
Michael Haliday got the equaliser five minutes later with a powerful far-post header from a Shaun Holmes cross.
Substitute Kevin Kelbie struck the 84th-minute winner with a first-time shot from the edge of the six-yard box.
It was Glentoran's first defeat in the league this season and comes just three days after they lost the CIS League Cup final 3-0 to Linfield.
Glentoran manager Roy Coyle refused requests for post-match interviews and also his players not to make themselves available to the press.
