Newry City 2-0 Coleraine
Stephen Beatty
Coleraine captain Stephen Beatty was sent-off
Newry City continued their impressive form under Paul Millar on Friday night.

Barry Curran and Andy Crawford had chances for the home side before Steven Ferguson scored with a low shot into the corner of the net on 45 minutes.

Stuart McCallum sliced the ball past his own goalkeeper Davy O'Hare from Ferguson's corner on 49 after Peter Spratt hit the bar for Coleraine.

Marty Quinn's side was reduced to 10 men on 71 minutes with Stephen Beatty sent-off for a bad tackle on Ferguson.

O'Hare made a fine save from Crawford on 14 minutes and then Curran chipped over the bar and headed against the woodwork.

The Bannsiders went close when Beatty met Stephen Carson's cross but Robert Robinson produced a fine save to deny the Bannsiders skipper.
