George Neill's side lost their first nine league matches |
Ards came from behind to earn their first league win and points of the season at Clandeboye Park on Saturday. Lee Patrick put Limavady ahead after 54 minutes when Mark Magennis squared the ball to his captain who shot past goalkeeper Ian Lester.
Avon Jephcott outpaced the United defenders and pushed the ball past the advancing Dwayne Nelson for the equaliser seven minutes later.
Marty Hunter headed in Tom Bates' corner from eight yards on 80 minutes.
Early in the game, Lester produced a fine save from Davy Patton while, at the other end, Nelson twice denied Jason Hill.
Jephcott went close for Ards before Patrick broke the deadlock despite Lester getting a hand to the ball.
Ards remain bottom despite registering their first points.
