 Baxter's Crues moved out of promotion-relegation play-off spot |
Crusaders' battle to avoid relegation was boosted hugely by Saturday's battling 1-0 Daily Mirror Irish League victory over Institute at Seaview. Darren Stirling's 51st minute goal earned Stephen Baxter's side the points and helped move the team out of the promotion-relegation play-off spot.
The Crues rode their luck with Stute's Calvin Mooney hitting the woodwork twice in the first half.
Crusaders' Liam Dunne was sent off for two yellow cards late in the game.
Veteran Dunne will now miss next weekend's north Belfast derby against Cliftonville.
With a further game against title-chasing Glentoran to follow, Crusaders' may need a win against the Reds to stay above Ards, who now occupy the play-off spot.
