Jimmy Brown's Glenavon moved up to fifth place in the Carnegie Premier League thanks to another fine display away from home. Ten of the Lurgan club's 15 points this season have come on their travels.
They got off to a great start as Shea Campbell tucked away a penalty after just two minutes, awarded for David Ogilby's foul on Aidan McVeigh.
Aron Black made it 2-0 with a glancing header with sub Andrew Sproule getting Institute's goal in the second half.
