Showgrounds ready for crunch game
Glentoran boss Roy Coyle
Roy Coyle's Glentoran are one point behind Linfield in the table
Ballymena United's crucial Irish League game against Glentoran will go ahead as planned at the Showgrounds.

The Ballymena Borough Council-owned playing surface was damaged during a recent stock car meeting.

"Saturday's match will defintely go ahead as planned," said Ballymena secretary Don Stirling.

"There was some damage caused but the Council's Parks Department has carried out remedial work and the surface is perfectly playable for Saturday."

Glentoran are one point ahead of Linfield in the race for Premiership honours while Ballymena are looking for an Inter Tota Cup place.

Glens captain Paul Leeman said he was confident of being fit for big clash after the knee injury he picked up at the weekend is responding to treatment.
