Armagh City 2-2 Portadown
Gary Hamilton
Gary Hamilton was on target for Portadown
Armagh City came from two goals down to earn a draw against Portadown, who lose more ground on their title rivals.

A headed own goal by Alan Murphy gave the Ports a 15th minute lead and Gary Hamilton doubled the advantage by slotting past Paul Rice on 18 minutes.

Johnny Cowan turned the ball in at the far post after a free-kick on 26 minutes and David Ward netted the equaliser with a penalty after 69.

Ward picked himself up to score after being brought down by John Convery.

Murphy was unlucky as the ball hit the back of his head for the opener, but Hamilton's second was a quality strike after the ball fell to him from 10 yards.

After Cowan gave the home side a lifeline, Shane McGowan's effort was held by Paul Murphy while Vinny Arkins couldn't make contact with a Hamilton cross.

Both sides had chances to score before Ward levelled the match from the spot.

Johnny McSorley shot wide for Armagh while at the other end, Kyle Neill went close with a header, Marc McCann shot wide twice and Cowan cleared Hamilton's attempt off the line.
