Portadown striker Gary Hamilton
Gary Hamilton gave Portadown the lead with a penalty
Two first-half strikes from Gary Hamilton set Portadown on their way to a 4-2 win over Armagh City in the qaurter-finals of the CIS Cup.

Hamilton netted the opener from a 20th-minute penalty and then pounced on a mistake by City keeper Paul Rice to make it 2-0 just before half-time.

Kyle Neill and Darren Kelly stretched the Ports lead to four before Armagh hit back with two late goals.

Davy Hawthorne and returning skipper Alan Murphy were on target for City.

Hamilton's penalty opener came after a harsh handball decsion against Armagh's Robert Casey.

On 41 minutes Hamilton nipped in to dispossess keeper Rice and make it 2-0.

Neill finished off a goalmouth scramble by hitting in number three in the 54th minute with Kelly heading in the fourth on 58.

The Ports seemed to be still celebrating that goal when Armagh hit back through Hawthorne and then defender Murphy's right-foot got another for the visitors on 83 minutes.
