Tim McCann moved to Ballymena United 17 months ago |
Former Glentoran and Cliftonville winger Tim McCann has said he is determined to return to Irish League football despite another injury blow. The 34-year-old ended his contract with Ballymena United six months early after suffering a recurrence of a cruciate ligament problem.
"It has been a frustrating time but I am confident I still have something to offer another club," said McCann.
"I will not be back this season but aim to return with a new club next summer."
McCann joined Ballymena 17 months ago but has been plagued by knee trouble.
"Everything was going well in pre-season after I had recovered from the first injury.
"But a few days before my comeback I went up for a ball, and when I came down the cruciate went again.
"The surgeon said it was just one of those things, even if had been the good leg it would have gone.
"I am prepared to work to get back. I have already spoken to a few clubs and it is flattering that they are interested."
