Ballymena Utd 4-3 Dungannon
Gary Smyth
Gary Smyth scored Ballymena's opening goal at the Showgrounds
A goal from Rory Hamill gave Ballymena victory in a seven-goal thriller.

Gary Smyth headed United into the lead on nine minutes but Gary Fitzpatrick equalised three minutes later.

Andrew Rosbotham restored his side's lead after 19 minutes, only for Terry Fitzpatrick to restore parity two minutes after the half-time interval.

The same player made it 3-2 for the Swifts on 65 but Phil Charnock replied for Ballymena on 66. Hamill netted the winner with a right-foot shot after 77.

Hamill and Vinny Sweeney had early chances for the home side, before Smyth rose to head home Rosbotham's inswinging corner.

Fitzpatrick's equaliser also came courtesy of a headed effort, with Kevin Keegan's corner providing the ammunition.

Rosbotham was on target to fire home after Hamill's effort was cleared off the line, before Terry Fitzpatrick headed in JP Gallagher's cross, and then put his side in front.

A Charnock header, his first goal for the Sky Blues, from a Rosbotham corner made it 3-3 before Hamill settled the issue with an unstoppable shot into the top corner from 20 yards out.
