Stephen Parkhouse saved Glentoran with a late equaliser |
Holders Glentoran scraped into the semi-finals of the CIS Insurance Cup with Gary Brown getting an extra-time winner against Newry City. The Glens had been just two minutes away from a shock exit but were rescued by Stephen Parkhouse's equaliser.
Newry had led from just before half-time thanks to Andy Crawford.
Parkhouse stabbed in the leveller after Paul Leeman had nodded down and then Brown secured the victory.
He played a one-two with Scott Young before firing in a shot from 15 yards.
Crawford's opener was a close-range finish after Glens keeper Eliott Morris had parried out a Damien Whitehead effort.
