Roy McCreadie will be happy with his side's 1-0 victory over the Reds |
A late Robbie Farrell goal gave Newry City the Daily Mirror Irish Premier League spoils at Solitude. It was a poor game with neither side having the necessary firepower to really trouble the scoreboard.
Both sides had chances and George McMullan was guilty of a glaring miss for the Reds while Conor Downey also fluffed a good chance.
Newry also failed to take their early chances and twice they were denied by Paul Straney in the Reds' goal.
It was left to Farrell to charge upfield and show how to score when he delivered a rifle of a shot to give his boss Roy McCready a big lift at the end of a traumatic week.
