NI boss Lawrie Sanchez is hit by withdrawals
Northern Ireland boss Lawrie Sanchez has been hit with eight withdrawals prior to the friendly against Estonia in Tallinn on Wednesday.

Paul McVeigh, Tommy Doherty, Gary Hamilton, Danny Griffin, Mark Clyde, Colin Murdock, Roy Carroll and Damien Johnson are all injured.

Johnson had been on standby for the game but has an ankle injury.

A frustrated Sanchez will be forced to give more new faces a run out against Estonia.

He brings in Cheltenham pair Grant McCann and Michael Duff while Ciaran Toner of Leyton Orient has also joined the panel, while Alan Fettis fills in as Maik Taylor's deputy.

Northern Ireland travelled on Monday with a squad of only 16 players.

Sanchez now knows what life of international manager involves.

''I've learnt all about what it being an ingternational manager involves. I knew that when I took over,'' he told BBC Sport.

''But we've got a group of players here who are fit. The good thing is that with the squad being slightly reduced they all have a chance of playing.''

Northern Ireland squad: Taylor, Fettis, Duff, Craigan, Williams, McCann, Baird, Capaldi, Jones, Whitley, Mulryne, Sonner, Toner, Healy, Smith, Kirk.
