Andy Smith played for Northern Ireland against Norway |
Glentoran striker Andy Smith has said he will be fit to travel with the Northern Ireland squad to Estonia. Smith was troubled by an old knee problem in Tuesday night's Daily Mirror Premier Division game against Cliftonville at the Oval.
The striker was substituted three minutes into the second half raising concerns about his NI availability.
"That was just a precaution. I aggravated it a bit but everyting is fine, no problem," said Smith.
New manager Lawrie Sanchez was impressed by Smith's enthusiastic front-running in the February friendly against Norway even though Northern Ireland lost 4-1.
But, with Sanchez keen to have a look all his options, Smith might be under pressure to keep his place in the starting line-up.
The Glens frontman could give way to Andy Kirk of Hearts or Paul McVeigh of Norwich City.
McVeigh was a late substitute against the Norwegians while Kirk was not involved at all.
