Feeney had a disappointing season at WIndsor Park |
Ards have snapped up former Linfield and Rangers forward Lee Feeney. The 24-year-old was released by Linfield at the end of last season after what was a very disappointing return to Windsor Park, and returns to another former club.
He was linked with Glentoran, Glenavon, and Ballymena United before Ards boss Frankie Parks swooped to further boost his squad.
Parks has already added Ronan Scannell, Darren Fitzgerald, George O'Boyle and David Williamson to their ranks for the start the season this Saturday with a ''home'' tie against Crusaders at Clandyeboye.
Meanwhile, Glentoran's new signing Tommy McCallion starts his first big game for his new club when the champions start the defence of their CIS League Cup with a group qualifier against Dungannon Swifts at the Oval.
Manager Roy Coyle, however, will be without Darren Armour and Michael O'Neill who are both serving suspensions. Chris Walker is also absent through injury.
Dungannon will be without Kieran Rafferty and new goalkeeper Johnny Pollock with either Gavin Cushley or Stephen McCombe taking over the gloves in Group A.
