The antics of the Macedonia players at St Mary's Stadium infuriated Sven-Goran Eriksson's side. The eastern Europeans took every opportunity to break up the flow of the game by diving and over-reacting to tackles. And the England players showed their feelings at the final whistle by refusing to shake hands. "I was disappointed with the behaviour of the England team at the end - they did not shake hands," said Macedonia coach Nikola Ilievski. "I am pleased with what we have achieved, though, with such a young team. "We missed our chance to draw with Turkey last weekend and we have learned our lesson." |
