Northern Ireland midfielder Chris Brunt goes into the Euro 2008 qualifiers away to Latvia and Iceland buoyed by a debut appearance for West Brom on Saturday.
Brunt missed the start of the season with his new club because of a ban before coming on as a substitute in the 2-0 win over Barnsley on Saturday.
"Up until then all I've done is an hour with N Ireland against Liechtenstein and one reserve game," he said.
"It's been frustrating so playing on Saturday was a big breakthrough."
Brunt is set to win his 11th cap against Latvia on Saturday in Riga.
Brunt has become a key player in the Group F campaign and last month moved to the Hawthorns from Sheffield Wednesday in a 3m deal.
The 22-year-old explained why he had swapped one Coca-Cola Championship club for another.
"One of the reasons for moving is that I now have a four-year contract," he told the PFA's website, www.givemefootball.com.
"When I was at Wednesday I was offered only either one or two-year deals.
"This contract gives me a bit of security and was a major reason for coming.
"West Brom had also bought some very good players and have been very busy in the market."
Brunt is now looking to move out of a hotel, admitting: "It has been a nightmare.
"I know it sounds glamorous but I would like my own place. I have been busy sorting out mortgages and putting a reserve on a new house.
"After being at Wednesday for so long it was always going to be difficult."
