Robbie Savage admits his international career is over after claiming that Wales manager John Toshack has failed to respond to his overtures. Savage, 30, has not played for Wales under new manager John Toshack since criticising the new regime last season.
The Blackburn midfielder has since admitted he was too hasty in announcing his international retirement.
"I think I probably won't play for Wales again while Mr Toshack is manager - not by my choice," Savage said.
"I've tried to get hold of him (Toshack) but I've had no response.
"I spoke to the press officer with Wales to say I'd like to get hold of him and nothing has come back."
Injuries have ruled out Paul Parry, Mark Delaney, Danny Collins and Craig Bellamy from Saturday's World Cup qualifier against England in Cardiff.
But despite the withdrawals Toshack has prefered to draft Under-21 players into the senior squad, as the former Real Madrid boss rebuilds for future competitions following the Mark Hughes era.
"I wasn't in the first squad named by Mr Toshack and I was hoping I'd be on stand-by," Savage added.
"There are a few guys who have dropped out and I've not got a call. There is nothing I can do but cheer the lads on on Saturday."
Savage has still not contacted Toshack directly since the player's furious phone call last March, and without that there is not even the slim possibility that Toshack will consider selecting Savage again.
"It's disappointing but there is nothing I can do. I've just got to keep playing well for Blackburn," Savage said.
"I've started the season quite well for Blackburn, I'm fully fit now and raring to play in every game."
