Hayes has led Dover to the FA cup first round for the second time in 28 years
Dover boss Martin Hayes says he will drop any players who hold themselves back to avoid injury for the FA cup.
Dover face Bishops Stortford in Blue Square South on Saturday, seven days before they play Kent rivals Gillingham in the FA Cup.
Hayes expects his players to treat the league game with the same importance at the cup tie.
He told BBC Radio Kent: "If players want to take it easy they might not be involved in that big game."
"We've got to be disciplined, I expect the players to treat Bishops Stortford the same as they treated Farnborough in the FA cup to give themselves a chance for the week after."
Hayes said resting players for the FA cup tie is not something he has ever considered.
"That's not in my plans at all." he said.
"The league is our main priority. I was hoping we would get to the first round of the FA cup. We've achieved that. But our main target is to get in that top five and I will send out a side to win that game Saturday and that's what I want the players to want too."
"When it finishes on Saturday we have got all week to concentrate on Gillingham."
Hayes' visit to Bishops Stortford is his first since he lost his job there two years ago. He returns to the club he served for ten years with mixed feelings.
"There are a lot of people there I have known for a long time. I haven't set foot in the place since I left. I wasn't happy with the way I was treated by some people there, and they're still there.
"Hopefully the boys go there and get the three points. If we get the result I'll have a little smile on my face but I would like to think I'm better than sour grapes and grudges."
