Bury Town midfielder Michael Steward is optimistic the club can continue their FA Cup run at Blue Square North team Alfreton Town on Saturday.

The Suffolk team have only appeared in the first round once before - in 1968.

Steward told BBC Radio Suffolk that his Southern League Midland Division side can go further.

He said: "We've beaten two clubs from Blue Square South already and obviously it's the same standard as Blue Square North so it is a winnable game."

You can't get carried away really because you never know what's round the corner

The former Cambridge United player said the team were initially disappointed not to be drawn against a higher-profile Football League team, but he remains cautious about thinking of progressing to the second round.

"You can't get carried away really because you never know what's round the corner, football has got a funny way of knocking you down when you're up.

"We've all got to keep our feet on the ground."
