Paris Saint Germain striker Pauleta has blossomed into one of Europe's most feared strikers since his move to France in 2000. Despite being a success at Spanish side Deportivo, he opted for a move to Bordeaux to kick-start his career.
And his decision was vindicated as he scored 65 league goals in 98 games.
Twice crowned France's Footballer of the Year, he ended his association with Bordeaux in summer 2003 and moved to Paris.
His international career has profited greatly from his run of form in Le Championnat and he now operates as a lone striker for Portugal.
He combines mobility and athleticism with great technique and strength in the air.
