Italy striker Christian Vieri has shrugged off criticism of his side's lacklustre 0-0 draw with Denmark. The Italians only created one clear-cut chance on Monday in ther Group C opener in Guimaraes, but Vieri says they have plenty of time to improve.
"The criticism is hugely over the top. We drew a match. We didn't play very well but we didn't concede a goal and we didn't lose," said Vieri.
"Everyone is finding it hard in this tournament, even the in-form teams."
Italy face Sweden on Friday and Vieri knows it will be a tough game after the Swedes thrashed Bulgaria 5-0 in their first game.
"We've talked about it and analysed the Denmark game like we do after every match. We are certainly going to try and improve.
"We are going to have to play like a side and work a lot.
"Sweden are a strong side in attack, they have a good spine and they play with pace. We will need to work hard and apply ourselves."
