Highly regarded in his native Germany, Otto Rehhagel has established Greece as a respected force in European football. His brilliant management career began at Kickers Offenbach in 1974 before he led Werder Bremen to two German titles.
After a difficult spell with Bayern Munich he joined Kaiserslautern and enjoyed more Bundesliga glory in 1998.
Since taking over the Greece side in 2001, his tactical nous helped them to finish above Spain in their Euro 2004 qualifying group.
Their campaign was built around an obstinate defence that conceded only four goals in eight matches.
Rehhagel has fostered a strong team spirit amongst his players and is very popular with the Greek public.
Did you know? After securing qualification for Euro 2004 Rehhagel went on television to sing the Greek national anthem.
