John Murphy recorded a sublime hat-trick as Blackpool took all three points at Kenilworth Road.

Murphy sealed the first of his three strikes in the 10th minute courtesy of a low-angled drive - the only goal of the half.

Luton had looked set to get back into the game early in the second half.

But it was once again Blackpool winger Martin Bullock, who played a part in all three goals, who was the inspiration for the second goal.

Bullock swung in a cross seven minutes after the break for Murphy to head home his second goal and take the lead to 2-0.

Murphy finally sealed the rout with his 15th goal of the season in the 76th minute when he slotted home from close range.

Tony Thorpe clinched a consolation goal for the home side when he found the target after Dean Crowe's clever ball through.
