Boston United have signed ex-Hyde and Altrincham winger Kevin Holsgrove, 23.

Holsgrove, who played against Boston while on loan at Hyde in Blue Square Bet North last season, made his debut in Tuesday's friendly against Arnold.

He scored and set up another goal as the Pilgrims' opening pre-season match ended in a 3-3 draw.

Joint-boss Lee Canoville said: "Kevin really impressed us last season. We worked hard to secure his signature and it is a real boost to get him."

Holsgrove is Canoville and fellow manager Jason Lee's sixth signing of the summer.
