Gainsborough add Clarke, Gray and D'Laryea to squad
Gainsborough Trinity have signed midfielders Shane Clarke and Jonathan D'Laryea and defender Mark Gray.
Gray, 19, was released by Grimsby, while D'Laryea spent last season with Blue Square Bet North rivals Eastwood.
Chairman Peter Swann feels Clarke, who rejected a new contract with Boston United, is a key signing for Trinity.
Swann told BBC Lincolnshire: "He's a player who impressed against us last year and one who we've expressed a keen interest in signing."
And he admitted that the club's budget had played a large part in recruitment, following reports claiming that Clarke's former Boston team-mate Jamie Yates had doubled his wages in joining the Pilgrims' Lincolnshire rivals.
"It's been said that he's doubled his wages and he's done this and that," said Swann. "But, in the end, the bottom line is we put a decent deal on the table.
"We might have doubled his wages but they might not have been that much in the first place.
"We feel it's a fair deal for him. He hasn't got to travel so far, and that's the same with a lot of players.
"We've tried to pick players who are in this area and can come and do a job for us."
