Ebbsfleet United to remain part-time despite promotion

Liam Daish
Daish took the Fleet back to the Blue Square Bet Premier at the first attempt

Ebbsfleet United will remain a part-time club next season despite their promotion to Blue Square Bet Premier.

The Fleet have returned to the fifth tier after one season away.

Boss Liam Daish told BBC Radio Kent: "Remaining part-time is the best choice. I think the last year that we were full-time it was a real struggle.

"Sometimes being full-time limits your options in what sort of players you can get. You can get full-time players, but if they're only young it doesn't work."

He added: "Last time we were in the Premier we found that you can't go with young boys that have just come out of academies.

"You can't have a team full of them because it's a tough tough league."
