Lee Carter hints he will stay with AFC Telford United
Carter gave up a civil service job to work for AFC Telford
Lee Carter has suggested he will stay on as AFC Telford United chairman after achieving his goal of reaching the Blue Square Bet Premier.
He has overseen the Bucks' rise up three leagues since they were reformed in 2004 and had implied he might step down if they reached the fifth tier.
But he told BBC Radio Shropshire: "It's been a big hill to climb.
"It's whether I can summon up enough strength again to climb another one but I probably will."
The Bucks clinched their promotion with a dramatic 3-2 win over Guiseley in the Blue Square North play-off final in front of 5,436 fans.
Carter said: "I've got to the top of the hill and it looks great but I can honestly say that, personally, the journey has taken its toll at times.
"People close to me have had to make sacrifices as I've been pig-headed in giving my all to the club, but they've stood by me and supported me - for which I thank them.
"But we told the people of Telford we'd give them their Conference club back, and I'm immensely proud that I - and a lot of people with me - have delivered."
